Sport Marketer. Community Builder.
Managing my own boutique agency for over a decade has allowed me the opportunity to work with a number of college athletic departments, bowl games, basketball tournaments, music festivals, soccer cups and more.
After studying entrepreneurship at Eastern Michigan University, I started Pakmode during my last semester in 2008. About a year later, I got my first big break when Stephannnie Harvey-Vandenberg gave offered me the opportunity to take over the Corporate Partnership program for EMU Athletics. It was a combination of my understanding of media, marketing and advertising and a love for sport. Pakmode’s success with sponsorships at EMU opened doors to lead other marketing and revenue strategies for the athletics department, in addition to working with additional properties like University of Detroit-Mercy, Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, Oakland University and more. I’ve also had the opportunity to be a part of some amazing concerts and comedy shows including Kevin Hart, Tiesto, Lupe Fiasco, Avicii, Kid Cudi, Russell Brand and Nas to name a few.
In 2014, I bought into a community based soccer club, AFC Ann Arbor, with some friends and was able to put all of my sports marketing skills to use and to advance as a sports professional as well. During the 7 years as Chair of the club, I was also involved in launching The Mighty Oak Project, CLR Academy, Anti-Racist Soccer Club and also served as an adviser to the Black Player’s Alliance of the USL.
In July 2022, after AFC Ann Arbor completed its first season after COVID, I stepped away from my position as Chair without a clue what was to come next. As I spent most of my time and energy working on my community projects, an opportunity with the Detroit Pistons opened up that felt like the perfect fit for my next adventure. In December, I officially joined the Pistons as VP of Brand & Marketing Strategy and am very thankful to work for a diverse professional sports organization and my favorite team.
